Manufacture Process
Step 1
Heading: Ball blanks are cold headed from rolls of wire.
Step 2
Flashing: Rolling balls between two hard alloy plates to remove slight bands and small protrusions.
Step 3
Heat Treat: Heating balls to a high temperature in furnace and quenching in a liquid bath.
Step 4
Rough Grind: Rolling hardened ground balls between cast iron plates to achieve precise dimensions.
Step 5
Cleaning: Final production operation cleans the finished balls and adds a shiny luster.
Step 6
Inspection: Balls are gauged and visually inspected to insure customer specifications are achieved.

Cemented carbide balls are made of carbide (WC, TIC) micron powder of high hardness refractory metal as the main component, using cobalt (CO) or nickel (Ni) as a binder, sintered in a vacuum or hydrogen reduction furnace.

Carbide grinding balls are widely used in precision bearings, instruments, spraying machines, high short circuit current automatic selection switches, water pumps, oil field equipment, and hardness testers. They offer superior wear resistance, anti-fusion welding properties, and exceptional chemical stability.
